Carl and Hyacinth Macaw

Admiring nature's majestic beauty

Every so often a photograph captures precisely why we do this work, and this is one of them. Here is Carl Groombridge, our Director, sharing a quiet moment with a hyacinth macaw — the largest flying parrot on earth, and a bird that gives its trust sparingly. Look at the macaw's posture: relaxed, curious, entirely unbothered. That ease is not luck. It is the product of more than thirty-five years spent learning to read animals properly, to slow down, to wait, and to let the animal decide how close the encounter becomes.

We share this image because it sums up the philosophy behind everything Animal Insights Consultancy does. Outstanding welfare is never simply a matter of ticking boxes on an inspection form. It begins with genuine understanding — knowing what a species needs, how an individual behaves, and where the gap lies between the two. Get that right and the paperwork tends to look after itself.

If you manage a collection, a rescue centre, a private facility or a teaching provision, this is the mindset we bring through your gates. Not a clipboard and a list of failings, but real enthusiasm for your animals and a determination to help your team feel confident and proud of the care they deliver. We have spent decades in wellington boots rather than boardrooms, and it shows.

Nature's majesty deserves our very best effort. We would be delighted to help you give it.
