World Binturong Day: Meet the Bearcat
Celebrating the binturong — a prehensile-tailed South East Asian mammal with a famously popcorn-scented charm.
A wonderful prehensile-tailed mammal from South East Asia, now housed in many UK zoos. Linton Zoo was one of the first to invest in this species.
Also known as the bearcat, it's actually a member of the Viverridae taxa.
Very popular with visitors and zoo staff due to its warming face and amazing popcorn-like smell.
Go along to your local zoo and look out for a binturong 😃
